About these 1.2mm Drift Springs

The Yokomo YOKD170Y is an RC-scale drift spring set provided as two pieces, measured at 1.2 x 9.5 turn in yellow. They are suited to hobby drift and touring cars where spring choice alters handling balance and slide feel.

Installation is easy: replace the existing springs on compatible shock assemblies without changing the shock body, and keep shock oil and preload identical while comparing setups. Ensure both sides use the same number of coils seated identically to preserve baseline symmetry.

Tuning effect: the 1.2mm wire and 9.5 turns create a mid-range stiffness that supports controlled slide initiation and steady mid-slide stability. Tweak preload, oil grade, or combine with other spring rates to match surface conditions and driving technique.
