The Serpent SER500917 is an RC-specific rear shock spring, supplied in green and identified by its 13mm nominal diameter and 2.4lbs spring rate. It is intended to replace like-for-like coils in compatible rear shock assemblies and should be considered a tuning component rather than a complete shock unit.

To fit the spring follow conventional coil-over procedures: remove the shock cap, pull off the retainer, place the spring onto the shaft, then reassemble and set preload consistently. After fitting confirm there is no binding at full compression or extension and re-torque fittings after initial running.

Changing spring rate affects static ride height and the rate of compression, which in turn shifts traction and handling balance. Evaluate effects with stepwise tests and coordinate spring swaps with damper and tyre choices to reach the desired handling compromise.
