What this Desmosedici model reproduces

The Tamiya 1/12 scale Ducati Desmosedici model faithfully echoes the bike's engineering, including the 16-valve V4 engine and the distinct truss-frame construction. The model shows the swing arm connection to the crankcase and comes with rubber tyres approximating racing slick profiles.

Origins and livery options

First seen in the 2003 MotoGP season, the Desmosedici was raced by Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss, with the 2004 version refining performance at circuits such as Suzuka and Catalunya. The kit supplies parts and Cartograf decals so you can assemble the bike in either rider's specification.

Construction and detailing

Scale wiring for the accelerator, clutch and brakes is represented using plastic tubing for realistic routing. The side panels and seat cowling are removable to expose the engine for display. White sponsor markings are not included due to restrictions, but the kit maintains high fidelity to the prototype.

Ordered 14 Tamiya kits from RCJAZ. All items arrived in good condition including the original kit box. Items must have also been well taken care of before sale. I'm happy with that. The customer service team is also quick to respond to emails as per m
Yes. The Cartograf decal sheets and supplied parts let you finish the model as either Capirossi's or Bayliss's bike. Specific white sponsor decals are excluded, so check photos if you need exact sponsor detail.
The engine and surrounding components are modelled with considerable detail and are visible once the removable cowling and seat are taken off, making it well suited for display cases.
This kit suits modellers with some experience in 1/12 motorcycle builds due to fine parts and tubing detail. Patience and basic tools like tweezers and fine brushes will help achieve a clean finish.
After decal setting and drying, use a gloss or satin clear coat to seal decals in place and protect them from handling or dust during display.
