This kit is a 1/700 scale full-hull plastic model representing the Imperial Japanese Navy carrier Zuiho as she appeared in 1944, released in Fujimi's series of full-hull ship kits.
Zuiho was a compact carrier converted from earlier designs to operate as a light carrier with a reduced air group, undertaking convoy escort and fleet support assignments. By 1944 she had undergone wartime modifications to armament and flight-deck configuration to address shifting operational needs in the Pacific theatre.
The model recreates the hull profile and deck layout appropriate to the year specified. Photo-etched parts are supplied for enhanced deck fittings and railings, and the full-hull format supports display on stands or within diorama scenes. The moulded components include fine detail on the flight deck and hull to align with photographic reference; builders should plan for separate painting and weathering for an authentic 1944 appearance.
A finely detailed full-hull Zuiho kit enhanced with photo-etched items, intended for model makers prioritising accuracy and presentation.
