Tiny shim for precision adjustment

The RC-scale shim is sized at 3.1 x 5 x 0.05mm as stated in the product name and is intended as a thin spacer for fine clearance changes in model assemblies. Employ it where minute, repeatable thickness steps are necessary to set bearing preload, refine gear mesh, or correct shaft endplay without machining components.

Fitting is simple: place the shim on the shaft or mating surface before assembling the adjacent component, verify the total stack thickness with a caliper or feeler gauge when possible, then tighten fasteners to the correct torque while avoiding crush. You can stack multiple shims to reach intermediate values; ensure contact surfaces are clean to prevent debris from affecting the measured clearance.

As a generic accessory, the shim is suitable for common R/C positions such as axle interfaces, gearbox stacks, servo horn seating, and bearing endplay adjustments. Treat it as a delicate thin part during handling and storage to avoid distortion.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The shim is very thin and suitable for precision spacing; it will perform well if handled carefully but should not be used as a load-bearing element.
Store shims flat in a protective case, away from heavy items that could bend them, and label containers to avoid mix-ups by thickness.
It can be used to fine-tune fit in vibrating environments, but check retention and consider pairing with threadlock or mechanical retention methods where appropriate to prevent movement.
