The USS Indianapolis was a heavy cruiser of the U.S. Navy commissioned in 1932 and active across major Pacific engagements in World War II. This Tamiya 1/700 kit depicts the ship as she appeared in July 1945, providing a compact but detailed subject for display.
Noted for serving as a flagship and for transporting vital wartime material, Indianapolis held an important operational role. The model mirrors these historical aspects through its external fittings and deck layout accuracy.
Tamiya's moulding reproduces the ship's superstructure, gun arrangements and deck fittings with fine detail. The kit features anti-aircraft guns, rotating turrets and deck textures such as anchor chain and non-slip patterns. At 1/700 scale the completed hull is approximately 266mm long and 29mm wide.
