The Marder III was developed to improve German anti-tank capability during WWII, using the proven Pz.Kpfw.38(t) chassis and mounting the captured Soviet 7.62cm Pak36(r) gun. In field reports the gun was credited with armour penetration up to roughly 122mm under favourable circumstances.
Tamiya's 1/35 kit captures the Marder IIIs functional arrangement and external fittings with crisp moulding and sensible part layout. Movable protection plates and clear sight detail let builders show operational poses, and the parts set encourages neat assembly and finishing.
The compact footprint and faithful detailing make this model a fine choice for display cabinets or mixed vehicle scenes. Two crew figures and five battlefield markings are included, allowing for historically informed variations and personal touches.
