The Tamiya 1/35 Elefant represents a high level of moulded detail that appeals to both collectors and serious modellers. The kit emphasises realistic form and component detail for display-quality builds.
Designed by Porsche in 1941 as a development of the Ferdinand, the Elefant carried the 8.8cm PaK 43 L/71 main gun. Early operational limits included poor mobility and reliability, yet it performed with heavy firepower at engagements like the Battle of Kursk. Later modifications by 1944 added a machine gun and a commander's cupola, enabling more effective deployment in Italy, Russia and during the final battles in Berlin.
This kit reproduces the Elefant's fighting compartment and angular superstructure with precision, featuring bolt-on front armour, a detailed engine grille and a mount for the machine gun.
Tracks are supplied as join-together assembly sections to recreate natural sag. The kit comes with three crew figures - a commander, a loader and a driver - and offers three marking alternatives for different display scenarios.
