Anodised aluminium shock upgrade for M03 and M04

This aluminium damper set is a metal replacement option for 1/10 scale Tamiya M03 and M04 touring car chassis. Finished in anodised light blue, the bodies are intended to be a tougher alternative to basic factory dampers while retaining standard dimensions for regular use and setup work.

All components are sized to fit the shock mounts, ball ends and spring retainers used on M03, M03M, M03L, M04L and M04M so you should not need to alter body panels or suspension geometry. Installation follows the normal procedure: remove stock shocks, transfer springs and any compatible internal parts, then mount the aluminium dampers with the original screws and shock pins.

Practical tuning guidance: aluminium housings bring a more rigid shell and constant outer geometry that can affect heat behaviour and mounting feel. Continue to choose oil viscosity, spring rates and preload as you normally do; the bodies do not force a different oil class but can help deliver more repeatable responses. Carry out regular shock maintenance: check seals, inspect piston and shaft condition, and confirm spring collar thread engagement during setup.
