The Centurion Mk.III by Tamiya brings a respected postwar British design to the workbench. Developed to counter heavy German armour such as the Tiger and Panther, the Centurion was introduced too late for World War II but became important in later conflicts, notably performing well in Korea for UN forces.
Tamiya models the Centurion Mk.III in 1/16 scale with attention to authentic parts, including a turned aluminium main gun barrel and a true-to-life Horstmann suspension system. The kit also provides an optional canvas-style gun shield to enhance realism for display models.
The model accurately mirrors the Centurion's 20 pounder main gun, with the hull's sloped armour and proportions reproduced to deliver a convincing miniature of the original vehicle.
For interactive matches, the Tamiya Battle System is available separately. The kit's included control unit manages movement and turret functions while the speaker adds engine and weapon sounds to increase immersion.
The Tamiya Centurion Mk.III balances faithful external detail with practical RC systems, making it suitable for collectors who value both scale accuracy and operational performance.
