Introduced at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show, the McLaren Senna channels the spirit of Ayrton Senna with a focus on extreme aerodynamic performance. The road car used a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 at around 800PS and was limited to 500 cars. Tamiya reproduces the Senna's dramatic profile in a detailed 1/10 polycarbonate body for hobbyists.
The TT-02 chassis is known for reliable handling and simple construction. Its shaft-driven 4WD and longitudinal layout balance components by putting the battery on the left and the motor on the right. Identical suspension arms and uprights make repairs straightforward, and the chassis supports different wheelbase, clearance and track options plus ten selectable gear ratios for setup tuning.
The model features a polycarbonate body with ABS side mirrors and a rear wing to match the original car. Large urethane bumpers help protect the shell and the model comes with 10-spoke gun-metal wheels fitted with racing radial tyres. Painting, attaching body parts and sticker application are required to complete the finished look.
This Tamiya McLaren Senna on the TT-02 chassis is a good match for model builders and collectors who want realistic styling with a chassis that adapts to upgrades and setup changes.
