This Tamiya 1/72 A6M3 Model 32 kit faithfully represents the Hamp variant with scale appropriate detail and clean moulding. It is suited to modellers who prioritise historical fidelity in a compact format.
The Model 32 adopted the Sakae 21 engine and revised wing design to increase top speed by an estimated 11 km/h, though this improvement came with higher fuel consumption and about a 1,000 km reduction in range. It first flew on July 15, 1941 and saw limited operational service including deployment with the 2nd Fighter Group in locations such as Rabaul and the Philippines, with production around 343 airframes.
Tamiya includes newly tooled parts for the main wing, fuselage and cowling, plus three decal options to replicate several wartime schemes. The 1/72 scale size makes it straightforward to display multiple aircraft in a collection or a compact diorama scene.
