The Tamiya 81705 Mini Acrylic XF-5 Flat Green is a compact 10ml acrylic formulated for hobby modelling. Its water-based nature makes it easy to apply to styrol resins, Styrofoam, timber and most common plastic components using a brush or airbrush.

Application Notes and Thinner Compatibility

XF-5 lays down evenly and is suitable for both detailed brushwork and sprayed coats. It mixes cleanly for shading and tonal effects, and for airbrushing you can use Tamiya thinners such as 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520 or 87077 to adjust viscosity.

Use Cases and Cautions

While excellent for military kits, figure painting and diorama elements, this paint is not tailored for polycarbonate RC bodies. Its flat finish is ideal for scale realism and low-sheen surfaces.

Will XF-5 stick to primer coats?

Yes, XF-5 bonds well to common modelling primers, but ensure the primer is fully cured and lightly sanded if necessary for best adhesion.
