Scale modellers and RC builders can achieve convincing earthwork by using the Tamiya 87221 Soil Effect: Brown (Diorama Texture Clay). This water-based clay produces realistic surface detail, with natural bumps and hollows suited to scales such as 1/12 to 1/48.

Working with the Texture Clay

The Tamiya 87221 material is simple to apply and keeps cleanup to a minimum, emitting little smell and not heavily staining skin. One package covers roughly a B5 base at 5mm thickness, making it useful for roads, fields or diorama foundations.
