Steering saver upgrade for Optima 2016

The JR-OT04 aluminium steering servo saver set is manufactured for the Kyosho Optima 2016 chassis and performs the steering linkage function on the model. It supersedes the factory saver parts with machined aluminium components designed to sit within the Optima 2016 steering assembly and operate as the sacrificial interface between the servo and the steering bellcrank.

Fitting is generally straightforward for the Optima 2016 steering geometry, using the existing saver mounting points and standard steering hardware. Check fit and alignment while installing, confirm unrestricted movement through the full steering sweep, and verify there is no contact with linkages prior to final torqueing.

When setting up, the servo saver presents a compromise between protection and immediacy: raise preload or fit stiffer linkage options for a crisper steering feel, or reduce preload and permit more compliance to favour servo protection in impacts. Tweak in small increments and evaluate on your typical surface to determine the best compromise.
