Will this improve durability over plastic arms?

Yes, aluminium 6061 T6 is much tougher than stock plastic arms and the stainless screws resist rust, reducing common failure points.

Do I need special tools to fit these?

Standard hex drivers and a spanner for the locknuts are sufficient; the parts are designed for direct fitment to factory mounting points.

How do I check alignment after fitting?

After installation, centre the steering, measure toe and visually check camber; make small adjustments with the tie rod threads and lock them down once correct.
