ARRMA Kraton centre differential gear upgrade

The MAKX1953TS gear set is supplied as a matched 53T centre gear and 19T idler in module 1.0, intended as a direct replacement for ARRMA Kraton 1/5 centre differential components. Machined from 20CrMnTi steel, the pair improves resistance to wear and surface fatigue under heavy 8S brushless loading while preserving the original tooth profile.

These gears are for RC drivetrain use only and fit into the vehicle’s centre differential housing. During installation confirm correct bearing location and gear mesh. Keeping the stock M1.0 pitch and tooth counts ensures the gears remain compatible with Kraton gearbox geometry and the specified pinion/spur arrangements.

Practical tips: clean assembly surfaces, check idler alignment on its shaft, and set mesh conservatively before a break-in run. The steel construction reduces deformation risk compared with softer metals, helping maintain consistent centre diff behaviour during high-power operation.

Select this hardened steel gear set when you require longer service life and consistent centre differential performance in demanding 8S Kraton builds.

It is compatible with Kraton 1/5 variants that use the standard ARRMA centre differential geometry and the listed factory part numbers ARA310919 and ARA310921.
After heavy runs, inspect tooth surfaces for pitting or abnormal wear and confirm bearings remain properly seated. Replace bearings or recheck shaft fits if any looseness is detected.
The kit includes a single 53T centre differential gear and a single 19T idler gear, both in module 1.0 and matched for the centre differential assembly.
Properly meshed steel gears can be slightly louder than plastic alternatives, but correct mesh and lubrication will minimise noise while improving durability.
Yes; the gear module and tooth counts remain standard, so non-stock pinions that are compatible with the existing gearbox geometry can be retained, but always recheck mesh and clearances after changes.
Use a suitable gear lube for steel gears and keep contaminants out of the housing; periodic relubrication and inspection will extend service life.
