27mm wheel hex adapters for SCX10 II builds

These aluminium wheel hex adapters are a practical upgrade for AXIAL Racing SCX10 II chassis that need a wider stance. The adapters provide a 27mm overall width increase to move the wheels outwards and enhance sideways stability on technical sections.

The assembly combines a machined aluminium hex body with a Delrin collar for wheel location. An O-ring sits on one face and a spring steel ring with washers on the other to keep preload and prevent slippage. A stainless steel cap head screw secures the unit to 4mm threaded wheel shafts and the 4mm centre bore accepts wheels with a 4mm mounting hole.

Fit the adapter by sliding it onto a compatible 4mm threaded shaft, seating the Delrin collar, applying the O-ring and spring ring stack according to the part orientation, then tightening the stainless screw to clamp the wheel. After installation, check full suspension travel, steering geometry and inspect wheel balance and bearings to ensure safe operation.

Are these adapters reversible or sided?

The adapters install to push the wheel outward and use the Delrin collar and ring stack for preload; orientation follows the part diagrams, so fit them as shown to ensure correct spacing and retention.

Will I need new wheel bearings?

Most wheels and bearings will work, but widening changes load angles; inspect bearings after initial runs and replace if you notice excess play or noise.

How do I check for rubbing after fitting?

Cycle the suspension through full travel and turn the steering lock to lock while watching tyre clearance at arches, links and chassis mounts. Trim or adjust as needed to avoid rubbing.
