This GPM belt drive replacement is built for Axial crawler platforms and pairs 6061-T6 aluminium components with a rubber drive belt and friction discs to reduce vibration and gearbox noise when compared to metal gear-only installations. It suits trail and rock crawling setups prioritising quiet, smooth operation.
Remember that belt drives transmit lower peak torque than direct metal gear meshes, so for extremely high-power configurations a traditional gear train may provide greater load capacity. Confirm the motor shaft inner diameter is 3.175 before fitting and note the large gear follows a common RC spline standard.
Fitment notes: reinstall the original gearbox metal plate then place the selected friction disc into the corresponding pulley groove, seat the bearing centrally and replace the plate, anti-skid spring and nut. Position both pulley gears to accept the belt, then fine tune spacing for correct belt tension. Verify all set screws are tightened and the belt runs true without lateral loading.
