Design intent and use

This RC-scale aeration shock cap is sold as a pack of 4pcs and is intended for general damper and shock assembly use. The vented cap is designed to regulate airflow at the top of the shock for maintenance and tuning tasks.

Installation is performed using normal damper disassembly procedures: support or remove oil as appropriate, take off the existing cap, place the vented cap on the shock shaft or body consistent with your damper layout, and reassemble. No unusual tools are necessary beyond typical shock service equipment.

From a tuning perspective, the vented cap provides a controlled escape for trapped air and small oil shifts during compression and rebound, which can affect small adjustments to feel and rebound consistency. Use these caps alongside spring selection, oil weight, shaft condition and piston configuration for comprehensive setup work.

Compatibility advice: the item is listed as a general damper component; check physical dimensions and bench-fit with your shock bodies and shafts before use. Shock top designs vary by brand and chassis, so confirm fit prior to running.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
They do not cause major shifts; their role is to fine-tune air and minor oil displacement, so any change is typically subtle and best used alongside other tuning adjustments.
If a shock is fully sealed by design these caps may not be suitable; inspect the shock top and sealing method and confirm dimensions before attempting to fit.
Perform a bench test to ensure smooth travel and no leaks, then conduct a short run to verify handling. Adjust oil, pistons or springs if handling changes are observed.
