Precision HVF shock shaft tailored to BD9

The Yokomo B9-S5SHVFA HVF shock shaft is a 19.1mm component finished with a heavy fluorine layer to reduce sliding friction and extend operating life. Developed with AXON collaboration, the shaft is tuned to minimise resistance from bearings and seals for more consistent damper performance on BD9 chassis.

Practically, reduced stick-slip at the sliding surface means shocks react more predictably to small inputs, giving tuners steadier feedback and enhanced traction control during fine setup adjustments. Durability trials recorded an improvement against earlier surface treatments.

For 1/10 BD9 chassis the HVF shaft is intended for drivers who prioritise lower damping friction and repeatable shock action when refining handling for competitive environments.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The kit contains four 19.1mm heavy fluorine coated shock shafts intended to replace the shafts in a standard BD9 shock set.
They are designed for BD9 shock assemblies and list compatibility with MRTC-BD919 and MRTC-BD919S; if you use non-standard pistons or extended internals, verify the 19.1mm shaft length and clearances before installation.
The heavy fluorine finish lowers surface friction which reduces stiction and promotes steadier, repeatable damper motion; this helps maintain consistent handling across runs.
Follow standard BD9 shock rebuild practice, ensuring seals and pistons are clean and correctly oriented; due to the lower friction you should recheck damping after installation to confirm your preferred response.
