12AWG silicone power lead for RC models

This 12 gauge silicone power lead is intended for wiring between the electronic speed controller (ESC) and the motor or battery in electric RC vehicles. The single-core conductor with silicone insulation offers flexible routing in cramped chassis areas; the 100cm length covers typical builds without changing connector locations.

Fit and install as with other power leads: strip and tin the conductor and the pad, solder quickly to form a compact fillet, then insulate with heat-shrink. Secure the routing to avoid contact with moving parts and keep solder joints small so they fit inside holders or tubing. The silicone jacketing keeps the cable soft for neat bends where space is limited.

During setup this wire helps lower mechanical load on terminals and simplifies component swaps; it is suitable as a universal lead across electric RC models that accept soldered or connectorised power leads.

Yes, the conductor can be prepared for bullet or ring terminals, but ensure the solder joint and connector crimp are robust and insulated. Soldering directly to pads is also fine where appropriate.
By adding a flexible pigtail between components it reduces movement transferred to hard-mounted connectors, lowering the chance of mechanical failure during handling or vibration.
Use short lengths of thin-walled heat-shrink and pre-slide them onto the wire before soldering, or use low-temperature shrink to avoid damaging nearby components while insulating the joint.
