The carrier supports the steering knuckle pivot and keeps wheel alignment when the model is under load. Moving from plastic to aluminum reduces flex at the pivot, which helps the chassis hold steering geometry over uneven surfaces and during aggressive manoeuvres.

Fitting is a direct replacement: remove the wheel and knuckle assembly, unfasten the original carrier, then fit the aluminum unit with the original fasteners and hardware. After fitting, verify the steering arc for clearance and smooth operation.
