Fitment and compatibility notes for MD3.0

The Yokomo MD-144LW is a 5.0mm wide drive belt intended for MD3.0 platforms and compatible MDR-030 models, aimed at limiting belt stretch and improving throttle precision in 1/10 scale electric RC vehicles.

The 5.0mm width reduces elongation compared with a typical 3.0mm belt, providing a more direct transfer of motor torque to the spur gear. The wider profile also reduces the risk of slippage and can contribute to more predictable wear patterns.

On chassis that permit slightly firmer tension, a modest increase often yields a crisper initial response. Always weigh tension gains against bearing and gearbox preload to prevent excess drivetrain resistance.

Practical fitment advice: check pulley alignment and run a cautious low-speed test after installation. Inspect the belt regularly and replace it when fraying or clear elongation appears to keep drive characteristics stable.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
In most MDR-030 and MD3.0 chassis the belt fits directly, but you should verify pulley spacing and tensioner range to ensure correct engagement and avoid rubbing.
If tension is set too high, bearing and gearbox loads can increase; keep tension moderate and inspect adjacent components periodically to prevent premature wear.
