Performance Notes for DP48 Spur

The Yokomo YOKSG-A4884 DCS 84T spur gear is designed as a replacement for DP48 drivetrain setups. As the primary spur in the reduction train, its 84 teeth contribute to the model's final drive ratio and overall gearing behaviour.

Mechanically, the gear engages the motor pinion and other drivetrain parts to shape acceleration and maximum speed traits. Prior to completing assembly, double-check that the spur seats correctly and that shaft alignment matches the DP48 specification.

Installation notes: install the spur on the allocated output shaft, tighten any retaining hardware prescribed by your chassis, and hand-rotate the drivetrain to check for clean engagement. Adjust gear mesh so movement is free without binding while avoiding excessive slack.

Tuning and maintenance: using an 84T spur will modify the gear ratio relative to other sizes, so expect changes in throttle feel and gearing. Inspect the tooth profile routinely for damage, keep contact surfaces clean, and verify compatible pinion sizing to maintain consistent mesh.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
No special bearings are mandated by the spur itself, but confirm your chassis' bearing sizes and alignment to ensure reliable operation after installation.
Look for rounded, chipped, or missing teeth and any unusual noise under load; these indicate the spur should be replaced to prevent further drivetrain damage.
Yes. Because the 84T changes the final drive ratio, you may need to re-evaluate pinion size or motor setup to achieve the desired balance of acceleration and top speed.
