BD9 Front Shock Mount Details

This graphite front shock tower is intended for BD9-series touring cars and changes the suspension geometry by raising the shock pivot 1mm. Increasing the pivot height expands the shock's upper stroke, helping to prevent the damper from bottoming under substantial roll or sudden wheel drop scenarios.

The upgrade targets handling refinement: the altered leverage adds measured compliance at full compression and promotes a steadier chassis through quick direction changes. Fit this tower to reduce hard bottom-outs without needing to alter spring stiffness or core damper settings.

Fitting is straightforward for those comfortable servicing BD9 chassis components. Remove the factory tower with your hex tool and install the replacement using the original fasteners; once fitted, inspect shock shaft freeplay and fine-tune ride height and droop to suit your set-up.

Compatible Models

  • MRTC-BD919
  • MRTC-BD919S
Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
It is designed for BD9 platforms, but checking the compatible model list and confirming any chassis revision notes is recommended before ordering.
The change subtly shifts suspension behaviour; steering feedback may feel steadier under load and tyre loads at full compression can be reduced, which may affect wear patterns slightly depending on setup.
After installation, verify shock shaft freeplay, confirm there is no binding, and re-measure droop and ride height to restore the desired balance.
