The Futaba S3101 Micro Precision servo is a compact RC-scale servo intended for use in small electric aircraft and other lightweight models where size and weight are limiting factors. It replaces earlier micro units and is packaged with common mounting hardware and multiple servo horns to fit typical micro-linkage setups.
This servo uses nylon gearing, a 3-pole motor and an oilite bushing for basic bearing support, so installation should consider torque demands and the battery system's ability to supply current. When installing in battery-powered models, verify your NiMH or LiPo pack and regulator can provide the necessary peak amps without voltage sag to avoid unintended behavior.
For control and tuning: mount the servo with the included grommets and screws, select the horn that provides the required throw and leverage, and adjust endpoints and subtrim in your transmitter to prevent binding. The S3101 is suitable for small control surfaces such as ailerons, rudders and elevator trim surfaces where compact size and reasonable responsiveness are required.
The S3101 is well suited to tiny airframes and light RC models where compact actuation is needed; ensure correct power and transmitter setup for dependable control.
