CVD half-shaft upgrade for GF01 and TL01 platforms

This aftermarket CVD shaft set is intended for Tamiya GF01 chassis and TL01 conversion projects. The pair is supplied as front and rear half-shafts where the vehicle layout requires a 38mm centre-to-centre length, allowing replacement of worn hollow or plastic driveline components with metal equivalents.

The shafts pair aluminium mounting areas with hardened steel driving surfaces to enhance driveline durability while keeping suspension geometry unchanged. Typical fitment requires removal of hub carriers and the half-shaft retention hardware common to GF01/TL01 maintenance.

Fitment advice: confirm overall stroke and outboard cup clearance, check existing hexes and pins for wear, and ensure the set matches the 38mm centre-to-centre dimension for your axle set-up. Apply thread locker to mating fasteners where recommended and recheck for any binding through full suspension travel.

Compatible Models

  • GF01
  • TL01

This set is suitable when metal front and rear CVD shafts are preferred for maintenance or for replacing older plastic half-shafts while retaining the intended 1/10 scale driveline configuration.

They are intended for GF01 hubs that accept 38mm centre-to-centre shafts; confirm hub spacing and retention arrangement before fitting to avoid interference.
Rotate the driveline through full suspension travel and inspect for any tight spots; adjust cup clearance or re-seat hexes if binding is observed.
They can work with compatible aftermarket hubs but you must ensure the hub retains the same centre-to-centre spacing and retention method as GF01/TL01 stock parts.
Reinspect retaining screws, cups and spline engagement after a short run-in, and retorque hardware to specification to maintain secure fitment.
When installed correctly they should reduce failure of the half-shafts themselves; however inspect mating cups and pins for wear as metal shafts can reveal weaknesses elsewhere in the driveline.
