Aluminium transmission housing tailored to R1

This aftermarket aluminium transmission housing is made for Gmade R1 platforms and Saw Back models. Replacing the factory plastic housing with aluminium can improve chassis rigidity and help keep drivetrain components correctly aligned in 1/10 rock buggy configurations.

Its purpose is functional upgrade and fitment reliability rather than visual change: it mates with the gearbox area used across the R1 series and provides a firmer mounting foundation. During installation ensure correct alignment of gearbox and wave mounts and confirm screw and bearing positions to avoid binding.

Compatible Models

  • R1
  • Saw Back

Select this aluminium transmission housing for a more durable, scale-accurate gearbox shell on 1/10 R1-series rock buggies; always trial-fit components and recheck fastener torque after initial runs.

The housing is specified for R1 and Saw Back models; check any aftermarket conversions for altered mount points before fitting.
By providing a stiffer mounting surface the housing can reduce flex-related misalignment, which helps drivetrain longevity when paired with correct setup.
Most installations reuse existing spacers and fasteners, but verify spacer thickness and bearing clearances during test assembly to prevent contact with gears.
After heavy impacts check the housing for cracks, inspect thread engagement, and confirm that bearings and gears still rotate freely.
