Hex adapters to widen track and steady the rig

This pair of aluminium wheel hex adapters increases track width by 23mm to improve sideways stability on scale crawlers. The adapters are intended for wheels with a 4mm centre bore and wheel shafts that use a 4mm threaded section, so they will work with any wheel and axle matching those dimensions.

The fitting uses an O-ring on one face and a spring-steel retaining ring with washers plus a stainless steel screw on the other face to clamp the hex firmly. A Delrin collar installed inside the hex helps keep the adapter seated and reduces wheel slip relative to the hex during traction, which is beneficial on technical climbs and obstacle sections.
