Overview of the front pinion

This is a replacement front differential pinion for the TRAXXAS UNLIMITED DESERT RACER platform, model UDR1200SF/G2, designed to fit inside the vehicle's front gearbox as a direct service item for the stock pinion.

Material and function: the gear is manufactured from hardened steel #45 to improve resistance to wear relative to common OEM materials. Reduced play between engaged teeth promotes smoother meshing and steadier transfer of drive through the front differential.

Fitting advice: the pinion installs inside the front gearbox and requires gearbox removal to change. Follow normal disassembly, fit the pinion, adjust mesh and alignment, and then reassemble. Supplied as a single pinion for maintenance or light performance tuning of the front diff.
