This 71-tooth, 42-pitch Delrin spur is an aftermarket replacement produced by GPM for the TAMIYA TT02 platform. It is intended to replace the standard spur in TT02 and TT02B gearboxes where a softer, lower-noise gear material is preferred.
Material and role: Delrin is selected for its combination of wear resistance and low sliding friction, a common choice on RC drivetrain parts. On a TT02 the 71T spur transmits torque from the motor pinion to the gearbox and has a direct effect on final drive ratio and mesh setup requirements.
Installation notes: confirm the pinion is 42 pitch, adjust backlash using shims or axle spacing, and verify axial alignment to prevent binding. After fitting run a short, low-load break-in and then recheck mesh since polymer gears can settle under load. Supplied as 1pc for single replacement use.
Tuning considerations: Delrin can reduce noise and provide a smoother engagement than some harder plastics, helping with routine setup and minor gearing tweaks. Apply minimal lubricant and use compatible pinions and bearings to sustain smooth drivetrain performance.
