Replacement wheel joint for TRAXXAS X-MAXX

This 1pc wheel joint is an aftermarket replacement part for TRAXXAS X-MAXX, intended for use with 8s power systems. Fabricated from hardened steel #45, it functions as a front or rear CVD-style joint capable of handling higher drivetrain stresses.

Design features include a 1.5mm CVD body wall, a shaft pin that is 0.5mm larger than the original, and an outer diameter increased from 17mm to 18mm to enhance mechanical power delivery at the wheel. These dimensional updates prioritise fitment and torque transmission instead of changes to electronics.

Installation note: the component installs into the same location as the OEM joint on TRAXXAS X-MAXX platforms and uses the factory mounting points and hardware. Inspect the wheel hex fit and mating surfaces during installation and verify there is no interference with suspension or body parts before operating.

Tuning note: the hardened steel joint provides a firmer driveshaft to wheel coupling which can affect throttle response and traction under heavy load. Consider it as a drivetrain upgrade when consistent mechanical transfer is required for 8s running.

This item is compatible with

  • TRAXXAS XMAXX
  • TRAXXAS X MAXX 8S Monster Truck
Yes, it is intended for use in either front or rear positions on TRAXXAS X-MAXX vehicles, using the same mounting points as the original joint.
After fitment check wheel hex engagement, mating surface condition, and suspension clearance. Re-torque hardware after first run and inspect for any signs of binding.
A stiffer joint can alter how power is applied to the ground, which may change traction and throttle response; test progressively to tune your setup.
