Purpose of the carbon lower deck

This carbon graphite lower deck is an RC-scale replacement part for the Yokomo YOKGT-02G series, intended to serve as the structural lower plate on GT-02G and GT500 style touring car chassis. The design aims to increase chassis rigidity and platform stability, delivering a consistent reference point when tuning roll stiffness, ride height and balance for circuit runs.

Choosing carbon graphite raises torsional resistance versus typical plastic decks while retaining a low mass distribution. The deck behaves as a tuning member: used with different top decks, suspension mount options and damper setups it will modify corner entry and mid-corner balance. Always check that the mounting holes align with your chassis before committing to installation.

Specifications

  • Item: GT500 Carbon Graphite Lower Deck
  • Material: Carbon Graphite
  • Model Number: YOKGT-02G
  • Compatibility: GT-02G, GT500

This lower deck is suitable when you require a firmer platform to fine tune chassis rigidity and handling balance; always validate screw lengths and mounting clearance during fitment to prevent interference with electronics or limiting suspension travel.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
It is designed for GT-02G and GT500 chassis, but you should compare the deck's mounting pattern with your car to confirm direct replacement without modification.
By stiffening the chassis, it changes how forces are transmitted through suspension components, so expect to revisit damper settings, anti-roll distribution and ride height to maintain optimal traction and steering response.
After a heavy impact check for cracks at mounting holes and along edges, and ensure screws have not loosened; any damage to the deck can compromise chassis behaviour and should be addressed promptly.
Screw length depends on your chassis stack and any spacers used; verify that chosen fasteners secure the deck without compressing the material or contacting internal electronics.
