Front Dogbone Shaft — Accuracy and Balance

Designed for the GTXE 2027 platform, this 80mm front central dogbone drive shaft is an RC-scale replacement part manufactured from Hudy Spring Steel. The shaft is hardened and relieved where practical to reduce weight while retaining the strength needed for common touring car driveline stresses.

Production includes hand-grinding and individual dimensional checks to maintain consistent runout and fitment across pieces. HUDY special hardened pins are fitted to ensure secure retention and steady service life in normal RC usage.

Because the component reduces rotating mass and is machined to tight tolerances, it can affect front driveline inertia and therefore throttle feel and handling balance. On installation, double-check pin seating, ensure steering and suspension clearance, and match front shaft lengths to avoid drivetrain binding.

Measure the overall 80mm length, pin spacing, and bore positions and compare them to your existing shafts or chassis drawings before fitting.
Routine inspection for wear at pin bores and checking runout remains important; the hardened surface resists wear but does not eliminate the need for periodic checks.
Shimming is not typically required if the replacement shaft matches original geometry. Verify clearances and use shims only if you detect play or misalignment.
A dial indicator on a bench setup is ideal for precise runout checks; alternatively, observe wheel spin for wobble as a quick track-side test.
