The Toyota 2000GT is a hallmark of 1960s automotive design, admired for its elegant lines and technical substance. Hasegawa's 1/24 kit lets scale modellers reconstruct this classic, delivering a focused build that emphasises the car's distinctive appearance.
Unveiled at the 12th Tokyo Motor Show in 1968, the 2000GT marked a significant step for Japanese sports cars. Developed in partnership with Yamaha, it was Toyota's first passenger car to use a twin overhead camshaft engine and gained prestige through prototype racing and endurance challenges.
The kit models the early 1967 variant, with the main body in white and a separate black chassis. It includes silver-plated trim and wheels for enhanced realism. Engine internals are not provided, so the focus is on external detailing and achieving a polished display finish.
