This 1/350 waterline plastic model depicts the Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft carrier Hiyo and forms part of Hasegawa's waterline series for display modelling and collection layouts.
Hiyo operated as a fleet carrier in the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II, carrying carrier aircraft from a conventional flight deck and participating in Pacific naval operations prior to withdrawal from front-line duties.
The kit models the carrier's external layout at waterline scale with emphasis on hull profile, flight deck and island form. Construction involves assembling the plastic sprues, fitting island and deck sections, and applying paint and finishing to match historical references. The kit is intended for waterline display rather than a full-hull exhibit.
A well-focused waterline presentation of Hiyo, suitable for display alongside other 1/350 fleet subjects and mid-war carrier collections.
