The Bell P-39 Airacobra, developed by Bell Aircraft Corporation and first flown in April 1939, stands out in WWII aviation due to its mid-fuselage Allison engine and a driveshaft beneath the cockpit that turns the propeller. The aircraft also carried a 37 mm T9 cannon firing through the propeller hub.
This Hobby Boss 1:72 scale kit honours the P-39 N Airacobra by representing its distinctive engineering and wartime role. Of the 9,584 built, many were supplied to the Soviet Union through lend-lease, which underlines the P-39s operational importance during the conflict.
