The Bell P-39 Airacobra is easily recognised for its unconventional configuration among early WWII American fighters. Manufactured by Bell Aircraft Corporation, the type first flew in April 1939. Its design places the Allison engine inside the fuselage behind the pilot, with a driveshaft beneath the cockpit to drive the propeller, and it carries a 37 mm T9 cannon that fires through the propeller hub centre.
Production totalled 9,584 aircraft, and over half were supplied to the Soviet Union under the lend-lease programme, demonstrating the type's reach beyond US operations. This kit reflects the aircrafts notable engineering and wartime role for scale modellers.
The Hobby Boss 1:72 kit delivers a compact but detailed modelling experience suitable for collectors and enthusiasts. Accurate assembly and painting will bring out the P-39s unique silhouette.
