The F4U-5 Corsair closed out the era of frontline prop fighters for the US Navy, developing on the F4U-4 and making its first flight on December 21, 1945. Its distinctive long nose accommodated a powerful 2300hp R-2800-32W engine complete with an automatically-adjusting turbo supercharger.
This Hobby Boss 1/48 kit comprises over 200 parts to replicate the aircrafts silhouette and key assemblies. The kit benefits from a refined cockpit moulding and a redesigned canopy to enhance the finished model's authenticity.
The assembled model measures 215mm from nose to tail with a 260mm wingspan, offering finely modelled fuselage and wing details along with a realistic engine and gear bay. Clear parts for the canopy expose the cockpit for display and photography.
