The Hobby Boss 1/48 PLAAF JJ-5 presents the two-seat trainer that evolved from the MiG-17 family. Incorporating design elements from the MiG-15UTI and J-5, the JJ-5 is represented here for modellers interested in Cold War era training aircraft.
Produced between 1968 and 1986 with over one thousand examples built, the Chengdu JJ-5 trained pilots of the People's Liberation Army Air Force and was supplied overseas as well. The assembled model measures 241.5 mm long with a 201.5 mm wingspan and includes optional flap positions plus a detailed engine section for accurate modelling.
The kit allows for a range of paint schemes, including those associated with the Bayi Aerobatics Team and the PLAAF 4th Flying Academy. Comprising 125 light grey components and 8 clear parts for the canopy, it provides the parts needed for a precise, display-worthy finish.
