The KrAZ-255B became a notable vehicle after its 1965 debut, replacing the KrAZ-214 with upgraded capability. Its signature upgrades included a V-8 diesel producing about 240 horsepower, hydraulic power assist for steering and an internal tyre inflation system allowing pressure changes from the cab.
