Precision titanium studs for Cyclone applications

The 3Racing CY-25 kit contains six titanium ball studs, sized with a 4.3mm head and a 10mm threaded shank, intended for Hot Bodies Cyclone Sport and Racing variants at 1/10 scale. These studs are offered as aftermarket replacements to improve wear resistance and reduce galling in high-load steering and suspension joints.

Application notes: these studs serve as the pivot point for ballcups on steering links, suspension arms and other linkage endpoints. Fitting titanium can tighten up steering feel by trimming play at the ball-joint interface and can extend service life by resisting surface corrosion and wear compared with untreated steel studs.

Installation and care: fit using the correct hex tool and torque carefully to protect threads, check thread engagement depth, and confirm ballcup seating following an initial running period. Clean contact surfaces and inspect bearings before fitting; apply a light threadlocker only if the chassis guide specifies it. Use only where the stud dimensions match the original mounting points.

Setup guidance: when replacing multiple joints, work symmetrically to retain steering geometry. If steering feels overly stiff after fitting, look for binding at the ballcup or insufficient clearance at bearings and alter turnbuckle length or add shims as required. Titanium studs are a precision hardware refinement rather than a blanket performance fix.

The pack contains six titanium ball studs, each with a 4.3mm head and 10mm thread length, supplied as the CY-25 set.
You may notice crisper steering from reduced joint play; ensure nothing binds and adjust geometry if necessary to maintain the desired handling balance.
Check studs and mating ballcups regularly, particularly after hard runs, and replace ballcups or studs if wear or damage appears.
