Reprofiled 16T pinion for Baja rigs

This 16-tooth steel pinion with a 5mm bore SBJ016TO carries a regraded tooth geometry designed for HPI Baja use. It works as an aftermarket steel replacement that meshes with the stock spur gear or SBJ057T when the mesh is set correctly, providing a harder-wearing tooth surface compared with softer pinions.

To fit, locate the pinion on a 5mm motor shaft, align the gear mesh with the spur gear and tighten the set screw. Inspect the tooth contact and backlash and rotate the drivetrain by hand to ensure smooth engagement; the regraded geometry helps with initial engagement but final clearance should follow your chassis specification.
