Axle collars in Delrin for BJ055

This four-piece Delrin collar set is an aftermarket accessory for the HPI Racing BAJA BJ055 platform. The collars act as axle spacers to keep wheel spacing accurate and to reduce lateral play in the BJ055 assemblies.

Delrin offers a low-friction contact surface and better resistance to compression than softer plastics. Positioned between bearings, hexes or gears, the collars help maintain correct axle alignment during steering loads and over uneven surfaces.

Installation follows standard wheel and axle servicing steps: remove the wheel and hex, slide the collar into position where spacing is required on the axle or hub, then reassemble and verify endplay. Use common RC hand tools and avoid excessive tightening which can distort nearby parts.

Tuning notes: changing spacer thickness affects effective axle width and can change camber and toe under load. Use collars to remove slack ahead of shimming or hub changes, and always check wheel runout after fitting. While Delrin reduces wear, it does not replace correct bearing choice or routine alignment checks.
