This kit is a 1/700 scale full-hull plastic model of the Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft carrier Hiyo, produced as part of Fujimi's full-hull ship series and representing the 1942 configuration.
Hiyo served in IJN carrier formations during the Pacific War and underwent the wartime changes common to carriers of that era. The model reflects the ship's 1942 appearance and expected external modifications.
Offered as a complete hull kit, this item is intended for display on a stand or as part of a diorama scene. Builders should be prepared to carry out conventional model finishing tasks including seam repair, painting, and light rigging for an accurate result. For greater fidelity to deck fittings and aircraft, additional aftermarket items or contemporary references may be required.
As with comparable 1/700 ship kits, parts are injection-moulded plastic and the full-hull layout supports a variety of presentation choices from scenic bases to simple shelf mounting.
A detailed full-hull kit of Hiyo in her 1942 form intended for display-orientated modellers and collectors; standard assembly and finishing skills will be needed.
