Second gear unit for Inferno GT and GTW26-17

The Kyosho IG113-17 second gear is supplied as a compatible replacement for GT-series gearboxes. Its 17T tooth count makes it suitable where an identical intermediate gear is required for service, repair or setup work.

Installation: access the gearbox, note the original gear stacking, and check pinion engagement. Remove the existing second gear and fit the IG113-17, confirming smooth rotation and correct mesh before refitting the gearbox cover. Ensure all retaining clips and collars are restored to their original positions and that the motor pinion has proper clearance.

Effect on performance: this 17T second gear adjusts the intermediate gearing and therefore mid-range response. Pair it with appropriate pinion and spur choices to maintain drivetrain equilibrium. Replace worn bearings or damaged shafts to avoid excess noise and premature gear wear.

Compatibility

  • Inferno GT
  • GTW26-17

Recommended as a like-for-like replacement for gearbox maintenance or to restore intended drivetrain geometry after demanding use. Confirm compatibility with your chassis documentation before installation.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Kyosho items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
It is listed for both models; verify the 17T marking and spline type against your gearbox to ensure a direct fit. Minor checks to mesh and bearing condition may be required.
Check for correct backlash, smooth rotation, and absence of binding. Listen for unusual noises during the first run and reinspect bearings and shims if anything feels off.
Keep pinion and spur choices consistent with the original gearing plan and always re-evaluate drivetrain behaviour after any gear change to fine tune handling and acceleration.
Replace bearings if they show play, roughness, or signs of wear; fresh bearings ensure correct gear alignment and reduce risk of early wear on the new IG113-17 gear.
