The Short Stirling Mk.I holds a notable place as the RAF's first operational four-engine heavy bomber, defined by its high wing arrangement and strong metal airframe. Active from 1940 with Bomber Command, it was succeeded by larger designs, yet its capacity to carry in excess of 6,000 kg of bombs and armament of eight 7.7 mm machine guns made it a significant wartime type.
This 1/72 scale release by Italeri, model 1335S, includes upgraded moulds and a photo-etched fret to reproduce finer structural elements. A colour instruction sheet and decals for six variants are supplied to assist accurate finishing. The kit is well suited to modellers who value historical fidelity and detailed assembly work.
