This Italeri 1/72 Stirling Mk.IV reproduces the bomber adapted to act as a glider tug and paratrooper transport, providing modellers with a faithful representation of the conversion. The kit reflects the Stirling's change of role from strategic bomber to airborne support platform.
The Stirling Mk.IV was employed in major airborne operations, notably the Normandy campaign and Operation Market Garden. Its four Bristol Hercules engines and structural tweaks allowed it to tow large assault gliders, with turret removals and other modifications shown in this model.
Built from new moulds, the Italeri kit delivers crisp detail plus a photo-etched fret and decals covering four variants. A colour instruction sheet guides builders through assembly for a polished display result.
