The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter stands out for its narrow fuselage and tiny wings, traits that helped it reach very high speeds after its first flights in the late 1950s. Its design provided excellent speed and climb performance while demanding precise handling from pilots.
The F-104G was a common licensed production variant used widely in Europe during the 1960s, armed with a 20mm Vulcan cannon and able to carry missiles or extra tanks. Reconnaissance adaptations equipped it with dedicated pods for surveillance missions.
The Italeri 1/32 F-104 Starfighter G/S RF kit emphasises authentic surface and interior detail. It includes fine engraved panel lines, a full cockpit, avionics bay and gun bay with the complete M-61 Vulcan assembly. Model makers can pose the air brakes open or closed and fit the supplied photoetched parts for sharper surface detail. The kit contains 325 components and decals to represent eight different aircraft.
